Lincoln camping booking: vehicle entry is not a campsite

Split the money: vehicle entry vs camping vs Memory Cove. Book on parks.sa.gov.au before you arrive. Passes do not include camping.

The failure in the title is merging three systems into one EFTPOS tap. Parks SA (Lincoln page, 13 Sep 2026): vehicle entry $14.40 per vehicle; accommodation from $23.10 per night. Memory Cove page: vehicle $14.40 and camping $34.10 per night. Fees must be paid before entry. Campsite fees are per night, subject to availability.

A 2-month or 12-month multi-park pass can cover vehicle entry into Lincoln and Memory Cove. It does not include camping, a Memory Cove key, or Donington Cottage.

Three fee systems, not one

Vehicle entry: listed $14.40 per vehicle (13 Sep 2026). Pay before entry. Passes may cover this product only.

General park camping: listed from $23.10 per night — VERIFY per campground. Booked sites only.

Memory Cove: vehicle $14.40 plus camping $34.10 per night, 15 vehicles a day, key, $50 cash deposit on the fees tab. Different wilderness product.

Sealed-road examples: September Beach, Surfleet Cove (no campfires), Taylor’s Landing (boat ramp). Toilets at those plus Fisherman Point. Many 4WD sites have no toilets — come self-contained.

Memory Cove: five sites, key required, no fires/generators, non-potable water. Donington Cottage and September Beach glamping sites 8–9 are named on the official page as Kata and Belle — official Parks SA accommodation (cottage listed $114/night, 2-night min on the snapshot) — commercial, not a general camping tariff. We are not affiliated.

Bring your own everything

Parks SA: no water available in the park — bring your own (Memory Cove camp water is non-potable). Firewood collection prohibited. Generators 9am–9pm where permitted; never at Memory Cove.

Closed on Catastrophic fire days; may close Extreme. Wood / solid-fuel fires prohibited in fire danger season (usually 1 November–15 April) and at all times at Surfleet.

Pack out rubbish — no bins. Do not camp under overhanging limbs. Stay in the booked site; friends’ extra tent on the edge is not a site.

When camping is full

Port Lincoln (and Coffin Bay / Tumby Bay) beds are the gateway Plan B. That is the Stay hub — optional, after official camping. Do not invent a free beach camp next to a booked site.

Day visitors with vehicle entry still have Stamford Hill. A full campground is not a reason to sleep in a car park.

Failure modes

Paid $14.40 and drove to September Beach at dusk with a tent. Fix: that bought you vehicle entry, not a site.

Pass quoted as “all inclusive.” Fix: camping and keys are extra.

Algal-bloom promo memory. Fix: it ended 6 April 2026.
